The colours of spring are upon the people of India once more as they welcome the festival of Holi. Like the first blossoms after winter’s chill, joy and merriment burst forth in technicolour splendour. This treasured Hindu celebration brings people together in a spirit of community and revelry.

Today, we rejoice in the eternal love between Radha and Krishna. Their divine bond signifies the purity and strength of devotion. May we all aspire to love so deeply.

The day also represents the classic triumph of good over evil. The story of Lord Vishnu defeating the tyrant Hiranyakashipu reminds us that, in the end, righteousness prevails over wickedness. No matter how long the battle, truth and light conquer in the final hour.

The pinks, greens, and yellows of Holi carry more than meets the eye. Beyond the rainbow clouds of gulal powder and water balloons filled with colour, Holi imparts profound teachings that we would do well to carry with us throughout the year.

Raining Colours of Joy

The vibrant hues of Holi represent the bright positivity we can spread. As the coloured powder fills the air, it reminds us that a little bit of joy can go a long way. Share smiles and laughter. Spread goodwill. Let the colours of Holi inspire you to sprinkle more cheer in the lives around you.

Washing Away Divisions

As participants become covered in colours, divisions disappear — rich or poor, old or young, everyone looks the same. Holi teaches us to look past outer appearances. Leave prejudice behind and open your heart to those different from you.

Nurturing Community

Remember the value of community all year round. Make time for family and friends, reach out to neighbours, find ways to build bonds across diverse groups. A strong community makes the colours of life shine brighter.

The Strength of Tradition

In a frequently changing world, Holi connects us to something timeless. Its rich symbols and rituals carry profound meaning passed down through generations. Holi shows us the comfort and guidance we can find in cherished traditions.

To all who gather to mark this day on 25th March – come together and paint the canvas of our shared humanity in dazzling shades of joy. Toss your worries to the wind and dance! May your Holi be filled with the brightest of blessings.
